About us…
The San Domenico Golf green is close to Savelletri . It borders the sea coast and its unique rocky shores. It is surrounded by olive groves and cultivated fields, where the land was once flat. Now this 18-hole green meanders through gentle slopes, making for an unforgettable experience for golfers who can admire the Adriatic Sea.
The Bari airport is 60 km north, while Brindisi is only 50 km down south.
San Domenico Golf
San Domenico Golf is a classic link with typical Mediterranean vegetation. Golfers can admire the crystal clear sea from any hole, with a constantly blowing sea breeze. A fascinating note: the green borders the Egnatia archaeological site (V century B.C.), an ancient Roman center.
Designed by European Golf Design in London, under the guidance of Jeremy Slessor and the signature of Andy Haggar, the San Domenico Golf follows highest USGA standard and has now become a sought after course for national and international tournaments, also for important finals.
The green is perfectly fit for the surroundings, and the lawn choice is very accurate: fairways use Bermuda, roughs use festuca, while greens are made with pencross, which makes for a very fast surface. Greens are rather big, slopes are not deceitful but not easy to tame.
The most particular holes: hole 3, par 3 at over 200 meters, with an enchanting view but highly difficult, since the shot is towards the sea and often opposite to the wind; hole 7, a great par 4 ending with a centenary olive grove; hole 16, a par 5 very close to the sea and also the longest at 560 meters.
This course belongs to the San Domenico Hotel Group, a small world made of typical Apulian hospitality with diverse hotel offers. On top of their resorts there is the Masseria San Domenico, a magnificent hotel with a unique and timeless allure, sporting one of the best Thalassotherapy Spas in Italy. Masseria Cimino is a small treasure inside the Apulian countryside, renowned for its traditional cuisine and contemporary design. Borgo Egnazia is the visionary interpretation of a typical Apulian village, all built using turf stones and surrounded by millenary olive groves; it hosts the Vair “alchemy” Spa with its unique “life-changing” experiences. Masseria Le Carrube, at the foot of the Ostuni hills, allows to immerse oneself in nature and rural traditions. Finally, the San Domenico House is a fine townhouse in the heart of Chelsea, in London.
In particular, Borgo Egnazia, Masseria San Domenico and Masseria Cimino are near the golf course, offering guests a chance to savor a unique vacation, relaxing and practicing sports among the hills and the seaside, immersed inside the Apulian countryside.
