Riva dei Tessali is a marvelous green for a golf round, with several attractions all around. Let’s discover this historic course!
First and foremost: the Ionian Sea. The coastline between Ginosa Marina and Chiatona is longs stretch of Mediterranean Maquis leaning to the sea towards white sand beaches with plenty of comforts, the ideal place for a total relax.
For nature lovers and history buffs, the nearby ravines and rural dwellings offer an invaluable experience: the Laterza ravine and its Massafra sibling show the relics of ancient villages and churches entirely excavated into the rock. Some of the churches are finely frescoed, as is the case of Cantina Spagnola in Laterza.
While in Riva dei Tessali, do not absolutely miss a visit to Taranto, the millenary capital of Magna Graecia. There are several landmarks to be discovered here: the MarTa – National Archaeological Museum hosts the celebrated Golds of Taranto, and then the San Cataldo Cathedral and its wonderful Great Chapel, or the various underground treasures inside the old town, the numerous Greek columns and relics around the urban area. You’ll be amazed by the “city of two seas”, as Taranto is referred to.
