Friuli Venezia Giulia is also territory of twenty thousand hectares of vineyards, cultivated with love by 1,500 farms that every year produce eighty million valuable bottles. Here you will have the chance to taste the Friulano and the Ribolla Gialla from the hills from Gorizia to Cividale, the Vitovska and the Terrano from the Karst, the Refosco, the Pinot, the Chardonnay and the Sauvignon that have been planted since the end of the nineteenth century.

Those who love red wines will find bottles of Schioppettino, Pignolo and Tazzelenghe.And to discover the secrets of this land you will definitely have to taste the Ramandolo and the Picolit, two dessert wines, which are also considered great “meditation” wines. The regional vine-growing and wine-producing territory comprises eight DOC (Denomination of Controlled Origin) areas, Colli Orientali del Friuli, Collio, Carso, Friuli Isonzo, Friuli Aquileia, Friuli Annia, Friuli Latisana and Friuli Grave and two DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) areas, Ramandolo and Picolit.
